Connecting communities with Kemper Auto

Conectando comunidades! During February, Griffith Insurance hosted a refreshing event for our beloved community along with Kemper Auto. Amid a cloudy landscape in the insurance industry where companies are dusting their hands off the flying number of insurance claims and growing losses, Kemper has made the bold move to stay and provide hope for those relying on the scarce market left today.

The Mural

Kemper made sure to show up and show out! With such a groundbreaking move, the company decided to extend its reach by giving back to the Latino community and beautifying the streets of South Gate with a colorful mural.

We said, ‘What if we brought our muralists together, muralists that know the area, that are embedded in these communities and have them reproduce something beautiful?’ So that’s really why we started here. It’s not about us. It’s about bringing something to this community that they’re going to enjoy for years,” Paul said.

The Artist

Designed and painted by Michelle Guerrero—also known as BBaby—the vision was to render Latino-American culture through her art. While pondering about an idea, Guerrero immediately reminisced the iconic Tweedy Street Fair, which inspired the eye-catching art piece.

The Event

This afternoon was filled with Latino excellence. As people from every background gathered at the event, our names were lifted high by the overwhelming support from the Kemper Family. Guerrero received multiple honorific mentions by the California Senate.
